We have a great year in Year 1! We start off the year with our ‘Terrific Toys’ topic. A great chance to get to know each other through talking about our favourite toys! Throughout the year, we engage the children in a range of topics to support their learning across the curriculum as well as the transition from FS2 into Year 1.
Children enjoy learning in Year 1 through a range of formal learning opportunities, supported by adults and independent learning opportunities in Busy Time, where they have a chance to apply their knowledge that they have gained. We have a number of school trips planned during the year to enhance the children’s knowledge and experiences, including a visit to the RSPB centre at Radipole where children get to learn about wildlife that are local to Weymouth.
