RECEPTION

FOUNDATION STAGE 2

Did you know learning happens through play? Well, here at Wyke Regis Primary Federation staff in FS2 create an exciting and creative learning environment to ensure children have fun whilst learning.

Important learning happens in the early stages of school, it’s here in FS2 that children learn phonics, numbers, how to read and write as well as develop their personal, social, emotional, communication, language and physical skills.

Our topics include Once upon a time, sticks and bricks and Splash! and we encourage the children to decide how their learning will happen by taking an active role in thinking of ideas to make learning relevant to them.

We know how important the first year at school is to both your child and you and we welcome all parents along to the class every Friday morning for a stay and learn session so that you can learn alongside your child. In FS2 we aim to make your child’s first steps into school and education an exciting and fun year ready for their move in to Key Stage One.
