ABOUT US

INFANTS & NURSERY

Our school is a Community Infant School serving the area of Wyke Regis. The school caters for an age range of three to seven years.
The school’s nursery class offers part time nursery education. There are places for up to twenty-six children at each nursery session. Currently each child is offered up to ten sessions a week.   All children can access five sessions for free. Some families may be eligible for 10 free sessions (30 hours – please check the gov website for more information). Any sessions beyond the free hours are charged at £10.50 per 3 hour session. The nursery is a self contained unit with its own entrance, a large classroom, a kitchen area, toilets and a secure outdoor play area.

In addition to the nursery there are eight class bases for the Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children. Due to changing pupil numbers, this year we have two Reception classes, two Year 1 classes, one mixed Reception/Year 1 class, and three Year 2 classes. Each base has a classroom, an annexe for small group activities, and a large art and craft area. All classes have an outside play area as well as sharing extensive grassed and hard surface play areas.

The school’s accommodation also includes a large hall and library. We have a number of other rooms that we use for small group and individual sessions when required. Each class base contains a small ICT suite.
Since September 2010 the school has federated with Wyke Regis C E Junior School and Mrs Wanda Roberts is the Head of the Federation. The two sites are linked by a path between our school playgrounds.
