For the rest of this half term, the children will be learning about the Christian Value of Service and reflecting on how they help others. They have been thinking about the range of different talents that they have and how they can use these talents to have a positive influence on others. This poem helps to explain what Service means to us:
Spending time on others
Enjoying giving help
Responsibility in action
Volunteering willingly
I second, you first
Committing to a task
Everyone offering their talents and gifts
In Key Stage 2, the children have been encouraged to look for examples of children performing an act of service. They write this down on a piece of paper and add it to the Service Jar which is sitting in the foyer. Mrs Ellis will share some of these during Collective Worship on Tuesday. We have already had examples of Year 6 mathematicians helping children in Year 4 this week and have also seen children supporting each other to complete tasks during ICT lessons. We look forward to sharing more examples as the week goes on.
